Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) the only state run university seems to pushing the state technical education to back foot by promoting un-employment rate. We are getting a clear indication that neither the state government nor The Honorable Governor, Odisha (Chancellor of BPUT) does have any control of the university due to which nearly 1.06 lacs students are suffering in side the BPUT system.

Today (i.e 12.10.2010) it self-set an example of the monopoly and poor administration by the Director Examination Prof. P.Kabisatpathy and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jitendriya Kumar Satapathy. As per the academic rule set by the academic council of BPUT it’s unanimously decided that the Special Exam will be conducted just after 30th June every year. But BPUT’s officials are violating the guidelines even considering the scenario of this year the exam was delayed for 4 month. As this exam was only meant for the pass out students those do have any backlog during 3rd Sem to 8th Sem but BPUT is not taking care to conduct this exam on a priority basis. This year they have issued notification to conduct the exam from 26th Oct 2010 till the end of November but today in the late evening BPUT issued a notification that examination are postponed till 2nd Nov 2010 and the paper those are in between 26th Oct to to 2nd November are shifted to 1st Week of December 2010.

As many students from this year are selected by Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Accenture, Mahindra & Mahindra, CTS  etc and awaiting to join these companies in the last week of November and Mid December 2010.It’s necessary for them to produce their final grade sheet to the companies they are associated.

But this year BPUT is creating obstacle to those potential candidates. Even students those do have only one/two back papers are suffering from this hasty decision taken by the university. AOBSA never demanded for shifting of special exam so we demand that the officials those are spoiling the career of the students should dismissed from their post with immediate effect.

As BPUT do not have any placement cell thus as a student we know how much difficulty a student is facing to grab a job after a post-recession period. But after getting a job BPUT is intervening over the issue and interested to boosting un-employment rate in the state.

In connection to this year situation around 8000 student will suffer due to this delay made by the BPUT. Thus through this press release we request all media personal to kindly help us to take this matter through a high node. So that The Honorable Governor, Odisha & Chief Minister, Odisha should intervene over the issue.

Hoping for a helping hand from your side

With thanks & regards
